Who this applies to

This policy covers the Android app Discipline Habit Grove (package name com.cryothink.discipline), called "the app" below, and this website.

What the app stores

To work, the app keeps the following in its private storage on your phone. Other apps cannot read it.

• Your quests, targets, check-ins, XP, streak and settings.
• Diary entries, to-dos, comments and notes you write.
• Photos you choose to attach. You pick them with Android's own photo picker, which only gives the app the photos you select, and the app keeps its own copy.
• Sounds you import for the alarm or notifications.
• Times you went to sleep and woke up, when you use sleep detection or the alarm.
• Minutes spent in apps that count as games or social media, by app name, when you turn on automatic tracking. If you switch on the VPN check for the optional Lust control quest, also the minutes a VPN app was switched on.

A few alarm details (the next wake-up times, the alarm's settings and a copy of its sound) are also kept in the part of your phone's storage that Android opens before the first unlock, so the alarm still rings after a restart. That storage is private to the app as well.

What the app never does

• It never connects to the internet. The app does not ask for the internet permission, so it has no way to send anything anywhere.
• It has no account or sign-in, no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.
• It does not read your contacts, location, messages, camera or microphone.
• It does not sell or share your data, because it never has your data to share.

Permissions and why they are needed

• Usage access. Optional. Lets the app count time in game and social media apps and notice when you put the phone down for the night and picked it up in the morning. It only reads which apps were open and for how long, never what you did inside them.
• Notifications. For reminders, the morning quote and progress updates.
• Alarms and full screen. Exact alarms and the full-screen alarm page, so the wake-up alarm rings on time and shows over the lock screen.
• Foreground service for media playback. Keeps the alarm sound playing while it rings.
• Start after restart, vibration and keeping the phone awake. So alarms and reminders come back after a restart and can vibrate and play.
• Ignore battery optimisation. Optional. Some phones stop apps in the background, which would make the alarm late.
• Music and audio. Only to let you pick one of your own songs as an alarm sound.

Backups

You can export a backup as a zip file and import it later. The app saves it only where you choose, for example your phone's storage or a cloud folder you pick, and from then on that file is under your control. The backup is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere private. The app does not use Android's automatic cloud backup.

Google Play

The app is sold through Google Play. Your purchase is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. Google Play may give the developer sales reports and anonymous crash and performance statistics, depending on your phone's settings. These never include anything you log in the app.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, deletes everything it stored. Backups you exported stay where you saved them until you delete them.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, children included.

This website

This website has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare may process standard connection data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
